The body of a 22-year-old South Carolina man was found in a well over the weekend, and his death is being called suspicious Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office.

The remains of Andrew Gazdovich were found in a well on Sunday McSwain Road in Chesneeaccording to the coroner’s office. It is about 6 miles from Gazdovich’s Inman residence.

Coroner Rusty Clevenger said no cause of death has been determined, and his office has ordered an autopsy, which will require more tests before the cause and manner of death can be finalized.

“The case is definitely being treated as suspicious,” Clevenger said.

The coroner’s office continues to investigate the death with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Officewho said not much information is being released because the investigation is ongoing.

The sheriff’s office said that “at this stage of the investigation, the evidence recovered does not suggest foul play.”

But the sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help with information about Gazdovich’s death.

Gazdovich is survived by his parents as well as a brother and sister among other family members, according to an obituary shared by Roberts Funeral Home.

A funeral for Gazdovich will be held Friday at Roberts Funeral Home Chapel, followed by burial at Good Shepherd Memorial Park, according to the obituary.
